Remelda Alice Murchison aka "Remy", 81 of Asbury Park, NJ passed away Wednesday December 11, 2024, surrounded by family.
Remelda was born in Neptune at Fitkin Hospital. She graduated from Asbury Park High School. She went to Ann May Nursing School and received her nursing license. She worked at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for over 30 years. She was a long-standing faithful member of St. Stephen's A.M.E Zion Church in Asbury Park. There she was the Vice President of the Goodwin Choraleers and life member of the W.H.O.M. Missionary Society.
She loved spending time with family playing many types of games and mastering card and board games. Anyone that knew her knows she loved to go play Bingo and work on her puzzles. She had a heart of gold and a calming soul. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Remelda" to many. She was also known as the "Baby Whisperer".
Remelda was predeceased by her mother Inez Stanard, 2 brothers Ronald and Cleveland Stanard, grandson Christopher T. Freeman, Jr. and great-grandson O'Mari Drake. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving Aunt Ella Ford, 2 sisters Harriet Stanard Council and Sheila Solomon, Sister in-law Jean Shepherd, former husband Charles Murchison Sr., 3 Children, Karla Dill, Charles Murchison, Jr. (Sherri) and Tara Murchison, 9 grandchildren (1 granddaughter & 8 grandsons), 11 great-grandchildren (7 great-granddaughters & 4 great-grandsons). A special niece Sonya Washington and a host of nieces, cousins, loved ones and friends.
