Patricia A. Gray, affectionally known as Fatiera, 59, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. She was born on October 3, 1961 in Neptune, NJ to James and Lottie Gray.
She graduated from Asbury Park High School, Asbury Park, NJ and obtained an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from Brookdale Community College. Fatiera worked in the banking industry most of her adult life. She was a lifelong resident of Asbury Park, NJ before moving to Philadelphia in 1994. She met her lifelong partner Bertram “Master Abef” Smith, also of Asbury Park, in 1978. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Fatiera had a “warrior spirit”. She would take a stand when needed and would defend herself and others as well. She was an advent card player. She enjoyed spades, pitty pat, and backgammon. Fatiera enjoyed life. She loved to laugh, smile, have a good time, and talk a lot of mess. There was nothing she would not do for her family and loved ones. Her children and husband were the center of her life, and she would jump on a giant for them.
She was predeceased by her father, James Leroy Gray, and mother, Lottie Jean Gray. She is survived by her husband, Bertram “Master Abef” Smith of Philadelphia, PA, three daughters, Ayesha Gray and Iqeera Smith of Philadelphia, PA, Qzeena Taylor and her husband, Johnnie Taylor, of Neptune, NJ, one stepson, Satif Martin of Philadelphia, PA, three brothers, James Gray of Binghamton, NY, Robert “Connie” Gray of Asbury Park, NJ, and Richard Gray of Neptune, NJ, three lifelong friends (sisters), Celeste Smith of Brick, NJ, Rashida Phillips of Neptune, NJ and Lisl Harrington of Atlanta, GA, six grandchildren, (Da’wan, Anyae, Iseer, Aziz, Mia, and Demi (Safaa), and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a host of friends.
