Myrtle Peavy

Myrtle Peavy, 77, of Manchester, NJ entered into eternal rest in God’s loving arms on Saturday, October 11, 2020 in Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. She was born on December 5, 1942 in Marion, SC to Mingo and Sarah Miles.  She was one of six siblings.

On June 6, 1974, Myrtle Peavy was United in Holy Matrimony to Hermon Peavy. This Union was blessed with three children, Gary, Alan and Michael. They were married forty-six years.

Myrtle was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Neptune, NJ. She was an active member of the Usher Ministry, where she took the honor of door keeper very seriously. She was also president of the Usher Ministry. Myrtle was a member of the Sea Coast Usher Ministry. Myrtle loved the lord and her family. She attended Bethel Community Church International in Tinton falls, NJ when her health permitted.

Myrtle was employed by Dr. Marc Colmer and his wife, Kathy for over 31years. She took care of their home and raised two of their children.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mingo and Sarah Miles; son, Alan Peavy; one brother, James Miles; and two sisters, Mildred Grice and Mary Anthony.

To cherish her memories are her husband, Hermon Peavy of Manchester, NJ; sons, Gary (Rita) of Neptune, NJ, and Michael of Georgia, Harold Jason, and Hermon Jr.; daughters, Sandy Barnes, and Tabitha Peavy; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers, Jessie Emanuel of Plainfield, NJ, and William (Gloria) Miles; niece, Carolyn Anthony (her right hand person); a host of nieces and nephews; best friend, Queenie (they talked every night).
