Monalisa “Mona” Powell (Bradford), 54, of Ocean Gate, NJ passed away at Community Medical Center on June 12, 2021. She was born in Newark, NJ on May 28, 1967, to Lee Ivry Bradford and Lena Bradford (Tobie).
She moved to Asbury Park, NJ at the age of ten. Monalisa attended the Asbury Park School System. She was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church in Asbury Park, NJ under the spiritual leadership of the late Reverend Brown.
Monalisa married Paris Powell, Sr. in her early thirties in New York, but it was in Asbury Park that they started a family. She worked as a Home Health Aid until she was no longer able to work. Monalisa’s hobbies included her passion for spending time with her family, dancing, listening to music and cooking. She loved to hang out with her grandchildren. Monalisa was loving, caring, strong and admired for her beauty.
She was predeceased by her father, Lee Ivry Bradford, and son, Paris Powell, Jr. She left to cherish her memory her mother, Lena Bradford, stepfather, Eddie Finney, children, Sykema Powell, Eiasia Croskey, Joshua Bradford and wife, Melissa Bradford, Terrance Powell, Monnae Powell, Deshawn Powell and wife, Ivry Powell, Aneka Powell, Mary Powell, Dante Powell, and Isaiah Wilkins, nineteen grandchildren, siblings, Lee Irish Bradford, Jr. and wife, Lesia Bradford, Leon Bradford and wife, Robin Bradford, Levi Bradford, Angela Bradford, Gregory Bradford, and Lashonda Robinson, friend, Will Wilkins, best friend/sister, Pauline Howard, special friend, Joseph “Born” Garret, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.
