Michael E Bristow went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Neptune NJ.
Michael was born to the late Jennings and Edith L Bristow on June 1, 1957, in Neptune NJ. He attended the Neptune Public School system. Michael went on to graduate from Lincoln Technical Institute, Union NJ with a certification in HVAC. He attended Brookdale Community College and NJIT (Electronics and Digital Systems Technology).
Michael had licenses and certificates in several other venues, which had allowed him to serve as a trainer, mentor, and teacher in workplaces, including serving as a guest lecturer at Fairleigh Dickerson University on multiple occasions. Michael worked for Sysco Ritter, Jersey City NJ for 39 years, serving as Director.
Michael’s primary Christian influence came from his paternal grandmother, Maggie Bristow. It was she who 34 years ago led Michael to the Lord. Michael’s Christian Education consists of a Bachelor of Theology Degree from Light House Bible College, a Certificate in Christian Counseling, and awards in Teaching Excellence from Eastern Bible Institute.
Michael served faithfully for four years under Bishop M.L. Johnson, Pastor of Mount Olive Church. During those years, God called Michael while driving to work, hearing the voice of God say three times, “preach the word”. He developed an insatiable desire to study the Bible and every book that had to do with God.
Michael then served under Bishop Jacob N. James, The Power of Christ’s Gospel Outreach Ministry, Inc., for approximately 12 years, being taught the depths of Christian Relationship and the possibilities thereof. It was there that Michael was ordained into Ministry.
As God would have it, Michael was sent to help his friend, Pastor O.T. Davis of Christian Cathedral Ministries (CCM), serving under he and his wife, Pastor Daisy Davis for approximately seven years.
Michael was installed as Pastor in 2007 by Pastor Cedric A. Miller and served faithfully for 15 years as Pastor of Christian Cathedral Ministries. Michael’s ultimate goal was the fulfilling of Psalm 71:18, “Now also when I am old and grey headed. Oh God, forsake me not; until I have shewed Thy strength unto this generation, and Thy power to everyone that is to come”.
In 1981 Michael met Sharon Crippen and the two became one in September of 1983. He was the father of two daughters, Shakima Wise and Breaiah Bristow.
Michael is survived by Sharon Bristow, his wife of 39 years, two daughters, Shakima Wise and Breaiah Bristow, one brother, Frederick, and five sisters, Nadine, Cynthia, Margaret, Jenny and Tina, two nieces, Laticia and Janelle, one nephew, Lemuel, three grandchildren, Kamisha, DeVona and Dasheem, two devoted friends, Ulysses (Yaddy) Marshall and Kenny Alexander, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
To the Best Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend in the world, we love and miss you beyond what words can describe. You will always be in our hearts.
