John Henry Hayes IV, age 58, passed away on September 6, 2024, doing what he loved on the golf course, with friends. Born on August 9, 1966, in Neptune, NJ John was a cherished member of the community and is fondly remembered for his kind and loving nature.

John attended Bangs Avenue Grammar School followed by Asbury Park Middle School, and later Red Bank Regional High School where he excelled in sports. He participated in football and basketball and was a state champion discus thrower. His love for sports continued into adulthood as he walked on to Arizona State University’s Basketball team, participated in 3-man basketball tournaments and was often seen playing golf with his best friends and his son. John went on to coach sports within the community, impacting countless lives.

Professionally, John was well-respected at Jumping Brook Country Club. He also was a sought-after independent home improvement contractor, serving clients throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties. John’s work was highly esteemed, always ensuring that he left a mark of excellence on every project he touched.

Known for his perpetual smile and warm demeanor, John was a pillar of strength and affection in his family, often seen surrounded by his children who adored him deeply. John’s greatest joy was his family. He loved watching movies with anyone who’d join, all while sneaking popcorn to his dogs. He was always singing, dancing, and joking around to make his kids and their partners laugh. He loved making people feel good and seeing people smile.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda. He is survived by the love of his life of 26 years, his wife, Beverly, and his five children, Joelle, Jordan, Cameron, John Henry, and Isabelle; he is also survived by his sisters, Dawn Hayes and Sheronda Sessoms, and his father and father’s wife, John Hayes III and Freda Hayes; his cousins, his nieces and nephews, and their children.
