Jessica M. Floyd

Jessica M. Floyd, 88, of Neptune, NJ passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side. She was born on October 16, 1933, in Sumter, SC to John Henry Sr. and Eithel Johnson.

In her early years Jessica was employed by Roxanne Manufactures in Neptune, NJ. She always exceeded top of her class, and she was the oldest and the knowledgeable. In her latter years Jessica switched to the medical field at Jersey Shore Medical Center doing nurse’s aide where she loved to care for people.

She also did private caregiving at Family and Children Services and did voluntary health care at the Senior Center in Neptune, NJ. In her spare time her passion was for gardening of all kinds, entertaining, shopping, cooking, loved music, sports and mostly tennis. Jessica loved her sunglasses and loved being with her loved ones. Jessica married Carl P. Floyd, Sr. in 1951. They had three beautiful children and was married for 66 1/2 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, two brothers, John Jr. and Oscar Johnson Sr., and her loving baby daughter, Saraya Floyd-Williams.

She is survived by her brother, Stanley Johnson of NY, daughter, Denice Darcella Floyd of CA, her only son, Karl P. Floyd Jr. of New Brunswick, NJ, son in law, Greg Williams of DE, daughter in love, Carolyn (Tank) Durham-Jones of DE, 8 grandchildren, Karlynn (Jesse) Hardwick, Karl P. Floyd III, Kahlua´ (Nyzeer) Harmon, Ky`Yonna Floyd, Kafka Floyd, Karl L. Floyd, Rickay Hailey, Munir Floyd, a loving godson, Michael Taylor, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren whom she adored, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and very dear friends.
