Jason Marshall

Jason Marshall, age 44, of Newark NJ, passed away on April 24, 2026. Jason was born on March 18, 1982, in Lakewood NJ.  Though his time here was brief, his life carried meaning, connection, and quiet strength that will not be forgotten.

Jason took pride in his work as a sanitation worker, a role he approached with dedication and dignity. He believed in honest work and in doing his part to serve his community. Those who knew him remember his steady presence, his resilience, and the care he showed in both his work and his relationships.

Jason was born to Linda King from Little Rock Arkansas, who preceded him in passing, whose life remains a part of his legacy, and his father Winston from North Carolina.

He was lovingly raised and nurtured by his mom, Julia Marshall, who also preceded him in passing, and whose life, care, and devotion were instrumental in shaping the man he became. Jason is also preceded by his dad, Isaac Marshall, two sisters, Linda B. Lightsey and Brenda Werner, and his maternal grandparents, Lodie Powell and Obie King.

Jason leaves to cherish his memory 6 sisters, Janice King, Keshia Marshall, Felicia Marshall, Seleedie Sutton, Carol Collins, and Francyna Wiley, two brothers, Albert Marshall, Dashawn King, a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and extended family who will carry his memory.
