Jabar Kevin Durand Busby, affectionately known as “Bar-Bar”, departed this life on July 24, 2019. He was born on June 1, 1987 in Neptune, NJ to Hazel Williams-Busby and Kevin K. Green.
He attended The Valley School, Orange, NJ and Hudson County Community College, Jersey City, NJ. During Jabar’s short tender life he made a huge impact. Everything Jabar did, he did with extreme passion. Jabar loved to cook. He held cooking positions for Just Fish Café and Dunkin Donuts.
Jabar was an amazing cook, known for his favorite meal of lobster tails, string beans and mashed potatoes. He loved basketball with a passion. He played on the summer league teams. Jabar was named by the neighborhood as “Two-Chains” of basketball. When he got the ball, it was a guaranteed shot. You could hear the crowd chanting “Two-Chains”, “Two-Chains”.
Jabar was gifted in so many things. He had a great love for music and rapping. Nothing was more important to Bar-Bar then his family and friends. Jabar loved his family with his whole heart and he showed it. He was always the first one to help. He would do anything to put a smile on the face of his loved ones.
Jabar would often take meals to the senior citizens in the neighborhood or handout money to the neighborhood kids for ice cream. He often put the needs of others before his own.
Anyone who stood still in Jabar’s presence for 15 minutes was guaranteed to learn something new and exciting. He was a lover of knowledge, one who knew the power of words. He used his words wisely. Bar-Bar will be missed beyond words and never be forgotten.
