Frances E. Johnson, 83, of Asbury Park, NJ passed away on December 14, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Asbury Park to Jack and Ethel Johnson.
Frances was a graduate of Asbury Park High School, Asbury Park and attended nursing school in Hartford, CT before returning to Asbury Park. She was employed at Consolidated Laundries in Neptune, NJ, Sonetronics in Belmar, NJ, and Wheelock Electronics in Long Branch, NJ from which she retired in 2016.
She was well known in the community and loved by all who knew her. Those who knew her described her as a generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be missed by all.
Frances had a lovely voice; she loved to sing and sang in the chorus at Asbury Park High, and St. Stephens AME Zion Church choir at a young age.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, Jack Ethel Johnson, brothers, Raymond Hayes and William Johnson, sister, Constance Cole Siler, nephews, Donald Carter, Stacey Sunnerville, and Anthony Sunnerville.
She is survived by her sisters, Gloria Carter, Washington, DC, Bessie Murphy, Asbury Park, NJ, Joan Sunnerville, Neptune, NJ, and Vivian Stanley, Lake Como, NJ, nieces, Iris Carter, Renee Hayes, Yolanda Hayes, Deborah Booker, Leslie Murphy, Brenda Pollard, Karen Murphy, Beverly Bullett, Tonya Hill, Tracey Johnson, Tonya Johnson, and Cynthia Stanley, nephews, Leroy Hayes, Keith Sunnerville, Eric Sunnerville, Joseph Murphy Jr., Michael Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Gregory Cole, Raymond Hayes, Jr., and Craig Stanley, and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
