December 29, 2023, Ethel L. Grant, 85 of Neptune entered into eternal rest at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 31, 1937, in Sumter, SC to the late James Parish Weston, and Cornelia Spencer.

Ethel was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Edward Grant. They were married for over 60 years while residing in Neptune, NJ.

Ethel worked many jobs in Monmouth County over her lifetime. Her most rewarding job was managing The Gill House, from which she retired from. Ethel enjoyed numerous hobbies such as gardening, canning fruits and veggies, fishing and cooking. She also truly enjoyed going to casinos and buying scratch off tickets.

Ethel was affectionately called “Sista.” She was well known for her infectious smile, positive attitude and wise words of encouragement. She was by far the most humblest person you will ever know. Ethel was a faithful member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She was given the name Mother of the Church, which she accepted with great honor. Ethel faithfully read her bible and had developed a very close relationship with the Lord.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her children, Dannie Weston, Marion (Robert) Russell, Elouise Grant, Willie Mae (Michael) Graham, Dellareese Grant, Sonia Grant, and Ethan Grant. She has left behind sisters, Anna Lee Wilson, Eastover, SC, Mary Lee Scott, Columbia, SC, Bessie Lee Branham, Eastover, SC, Ruth (Robert) Sumpter, Brooklyn, NY, Leonara (Robert) Clearly, Brooklyn, NY, Corina Scott, Eastover, SC and one brother, Robert Weston, Sumter SC. Ethel also leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Ethel was predeceased by her late husband Edward Grant Jr, daughter, Linda S. Grant, sisters, Maggie Lee Camper and Rosa Lee Johnson, and brothers, Willie James Weston and Roosevelt Weston.
