Estelle (Hamilton) Braxton, 74, formerly of Asbury Park, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. She was born on July 17, 1947 in Kinston, NC to Tune’ Warren and Elizabeth Shannon. Estelle resided in Freehold, NJ for years being cared for by her niece, Laria Hamilton.
She was a lifelong resident of Asbury Park and graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1966. She was employed as a computer assistant at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, NJ for 30+ years before retiring in 2011.
Stella was a loving and caring sister, aunt, cousin and will be greatly missed. She LOVED her family dearly. She loved hard for her nieces and nephews and was like a second mother. She cared for everyone and was a true friend and devoted co-worker. Stella’s dedication and compassion exemplifies her. She opened her home to all and greeted them with a warm meal. Besides a music lover, she was also an avid bowler and was involved in several local bowling leagues.
Estelle was predeceased by her husband, Valentine Hodge, mother, Elizabeth Hundley, stepfather(s), Edward D. Hundley and Edward Hamilton, brothers, Edward J. Hamilton and Thomas E. Hundley, aunt, Eva M. Guy.
She is survived by her three sisters, Carolyn Savage of Asbury Park, NJ, Linda Crawford and Joyce Hamilton of Philadelphia, PA, cousin, Sherion Guy of Asbury Park, NJ, sister-in-law, Patricia Hundley of Pennsauken, NJ, aunts, Beatrice Burns of Ft. Pierce, FL and Joyce Knight of Miami, FL, god-daughter, Lorraine Maccanico-Dickerson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
