Eric C. Lackland

Eric Lackland, 55 of Neptune, NJ passed away on Tuesday, Jan 14, 2020. He was born on June 22, 1964 to Warren and Marian Lackland.  Eric grew up in Neptune and graduated from Neptune High School in 1982.  While in high school he played on the Varsity Football team, and during his senior year in high school, he received Neptune High School’s Outstanding Musician Award.

Although circumstances didn’t allow Eric to finish Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, he did obtain his Certification in Network Engineering & Management, and NJ Boiler Operator’s License.  After a brief career with Verizon Eric, while being employed in various jobs, decided to dedicate himself to taking care of his parents.  In 2016 Eric began employment with a Private Company in the Marlborough school system until his passing.

Eric’s favorite past times included music, helping aspiring young musicians and singers, creating his own music, going to concerts, traveling to Hawaii, the Dominican Republic, etc., watching football and basketball games.  His religious beliefs were in harmony with those of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Eric is predeceased by his parents, Warren Sr. and Marian of Neptune, NJ.  He is survived by his 3 brothers who loved him dearly, Warren, Curtis and Anthony; 2 sisters in law, Beth and Ernestine; nieces, Asia, Danielle, Asia, Grace, Savannah, Teen, and Trici; nephew, Curtis; aunt, Shirley; his girlfriend of 10 years, Monique, who was with Eric through thick and thin; a host of cousins, extended family members, godparents, and many friends.
