Edward Barnes, Jr.

Edward "I-King" Barnes Jr., 61, passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore Hospital in Neptune, NJ, on April 12, 2021. He was born on June 21, 1959, in Neptune, NJ, to Georgia Mae Johnson and Edward Barnes. He had a passion for cooking and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.

Edward is predeceased by his mother, Georgia Mae Johnson, father, Edward Barnes, beloved daughter, Camille O'Neal, sister, Hope Barnes, and nephew, Melvin "BJ" Barnes.

He is survived by his longtime friend, Val Kasey, sons, Edward O'Neal and son’s fiancé, Kaylee Berge, Nicholas O'Neal, and Darnell O'Neal, sisters, Brenda Johnson, Loraine Johnson, Jeanette Horn, Deborah Johnson, and Jacklyn Hughes, brothers, Gregory and John Barnes, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Edward was expecting his first grandchild in September 2021 and was very excited to become a grandfather. He will be sorely missed, and his memory will live on through his son and grandson.
