Dwight Macon Obituary

Dwight A. Macon, 58, of Freehold, NJ was called home on Friday, November 19, 2021. The Lord called his son to eternal rest. Dwight was born on September 23, 1963 in Neptune, NJ to the late Robert Macon, Sr., and Vera Macon. He was the youngest of eight children, and raised in Freehold, New Jersey.

Dwight was known as Tony, Mac, and Money Macon. He was a high a school graduate. Tony later studied to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) where he began his journey of truck driving. He called himself a Transportation Engineering Trucking Specialist.

Tony had a heart of gold, a smile, and a personality one would never forget. He was a joker; he could make you upset and seconds later have you in tears from laughter. Tony was a smooth talker; he could talk his way out of anything.

He was known for his passion for trucking as he traveled all over the country. The residents of Freehold knew when Tony was home because they would hear the engine braking from his truck as he came down Center St. As he would pass them, they could read “Money Macon” on the back of his truck.

Tony also had a passion for cooking, especially grilling. Whenever there was an event, he was always on the grill tasting everything as he cooked. He had a thing for antique muscle cars, at times he would race at Englishtown racetrack. Tony worked as a construction worker, bails bondsman, and was a mentor to young men within the community. Tony began a career change the past year assisting and developing skills at Creative Change Counseling.

Tony loved his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Macon, Sr., mother, Vera Macon, three brothers, Robert Macon, Jr., Billy Ray Macon, Sr., and Wonser Leon Macon, Sr., one nephew, Sean Macon, and mother of his children, Quyteasea Pryor.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Jordan Jackson, Jaidyn Macon, and Gabrielle Macon, life partner, Veronica Parish, one brother, Bernard (Netta) Macon, three sisters, Robbie (Orlando) Thomas, Valerie (Arthur) Fitzpatrick, and Marilyn (Leroy) Wynn, two aunts, Jeanne Remson, and Bobby Lou (Jimmy Lee) Ivory, and a host of nieces, nephews, loving extended family and friends.
