David Lofland, affectionately known as Congo, was born at home on August 13,1958 to the late Willie S. Lofland Jr. and Ivory Jessie Lofland.
David was raised in Englishtown, NJ in a small section known as Pergolaville and educated through the Englishtown school district. At an early age he met and fell in love with Joyce Jones and of this union came three children.
During his life David worked various jobs. He was a chauffeur for the late Victoria Skyball, he worked at Beacon Scrap Metal in Freehold, NJ for many years, then went on to work for T.W. Delisa in Neptune City, NJ.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Willie S. Lofland Jr. and Ivory Turnage, brothers, Stanley A. Lofland and Preston Turnage. David leaves to cherish his memories, Joyce Jones, children, Kisha Jones of Asbury Park, NJ, David and Nadia Jones of Norfolk, VA, Kim Jones of Long Branch, NJ, grandchildren, Shannel, Narayah, Kaniyla, Daniya, and Davionne, great grandchildren, A’zaria and Tempest, sisters, Jessie Mae Talley of AZ, Helen C. of Trenton ,NJ, Sara Ann Lofland (Ray) of Freehold, NJ, Delores Mitchell, Stella Turnage, Denise Palmar, Grace Drummond, Ella Louise Turnage and Tina Turnage all of Delaware, sister in law, Dr. Michelle Lofland of CA, brothers, Harry Lofland of MA, Jarvis Turnage of, DE, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
