Cora Madden Hunter, daughter of the late Iola Smith Madden and Jessie L. Madden, was born in Laurens, South Carolina on June 12,1932. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, at 12:50 pm after an extended illness.
Cora was affectionately called “Miss Kitty and Mum by her children. At an early age she joined Triumph Pentecostal Church and was a faithful member. She attended the public schools of Laurens County and was always that quiet voice in the background.
After school she moved to New York where she worked various jobs. She was the best. A loving mother, a loving grandmother, and a loving great grandmother. She would do anything she could for them. Her love was deep.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, sisters, Martha and Mary, brothers, Fred, Edward, Jessie, and James, daughter, Yasmine Hunter Brown, son, Terrance Hunter, and partner, William Vernon Hunter.
She leaves to cherish her legacy of love sons, Ronald M. Hunter and Vernon (Gladys) Hunter, caregivers, Reginald (Pamela) Hunter and Daren Hunter, daughters, Diane Davis and Gwendolyn Hunter, caregiver, Kimberly Parrish, great granddaughter and caregiver, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
