Christopher M. Freeman, a cherished son, devoted friend and a beloved brother, transitioned on Friday, March 20, 2026.

He will always be remembered as the “Little Drummer Boy.” Christopher was a faithful and dedicated member of the St. Stephen AMEZ Church Music Ministry, a drummer par excellence.

He was an active participant in the Boys to Men Ministry, Acolyte Ministry, Junior Usher Ministry and Young Adult Ministry.

Christopher shared his ministry in drumming at various community churches, Asbury Evangelistic Chapel and the “For His Praise Ministries”.

He was born on September 29, 1994. His birth was not without challenges. Christopher weighed 1lb,7 oz; but with many prayers and the love and support of his praying family, he overcame and persevered.

He completed a summer session at the prestigious American Boys Choir School in Princeton NJ. He was a Police Explorer for the Ocean Township Police Department.

Christopher was also featured in several articles in the local newspapers about his musical talents. A published poet, whose works brought joy to many. A 2013 graduate of Asbury Park High School, where he was a member of the school band.

Christopher was predeceased by his brother, Christopher T. Freeman, Jr., his maternal grandparents, Remelda Murchison and James Kennedy, his paternal grandparents, Lois and Raleigh Freeman; his maternal great grandmother, Inez Stanard, and his parental great grandmother, Carrie Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Tara Murchison and father, Christopher T. Freeman, Sr.; six brothers, Chyrod Freeman, Asion Murchison, Johnny Murchison, Tysion Murchison, Kavon Freeman and Jarrell Johnson; two sisters, Aaryn and Jayla Freeman, cherished great, great aunt, Ella Ford and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, loved ones, and friends.
