Carmen Priscilla Torres, 87, of Eatontown, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of strong faith. Priscilla dedicated her life to love, service, and helping others.
Born on September 3, 1937, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Priscilla was passionate about serving her community and honoring God through her work. After moving to the United States, she proudly worked for Monmouth County “Handicap,” now Monmouth County Disability Services, and often shared fond memories of her time there. Throughout her life, she served in various community roles, but her most treasured calling was caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vidal Torres Sr.; her son, René Acevedo; her mother, Alejandrina George; her brother, Guillermo Lopez; and her sister, Carlina “Lolin” Lopez. Priscilla is survived by her five sons: Fred Oliveras Sr. (Neptune, NJ), Edwin Oliveras (Eatontown, NJ), Eric Acevedo (Long Branch, NJ), Vidal Torres Jr. (North Bergen, NJ), and George Torres Sr. (McKinney, TX). She is also survived by her 24 beloved grandchildren: Priscilla Ibanez (Lexington Park, MD); Fred Oliveras Jr. (Passaic County, NJ); Cindy Riley (Chicago, IL); Yasmeen Dandridge (Hernando, MS); Will Oliveras (Neptune, NJ); Asher Cofer (Long Branch, NJ); Termaca Acevedo (Charlotte, NC); Chris Oliveras; Taylor Oliveras (Eatontown, NJ); Brandon Oliveras (Eatontown, NJ); Luis Reyes (Eatontown, NJ); Neyla Torres (North Bergen, NJ); Peter Reyes (Eatontown, NJ); Savannah and Sebastian Oropesa (North Bergen, NJ); Thalia Oliveras (Eatontown, NJ); and Amaris Torris (North Bergen, NJ), and is survived by 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
