Bridget Lawing Mobley was born August 6, 1954 to the late George Mobley and Velma Lawing Jackson at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, Concord, NC. She graduated from Asbury Park High School, Class of 1973. She continued her education at Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA, where she studied Textiles in Clothing with a minor in Business, Virginia Commonwealth University, where she took courses in clothing and construction, Monmouth Vocational where she took CNA courses, Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, NJ, certified in Computer Literacy, Microsoft Office, and Windows, completed a Computer Training Program at The West Side Community Center, Asbury Park.

At a very early age she attended St. Stephen AME Zion church, Asbury Park, NJ, under Rev. O Goodwin where she was a member of the Carol Choir, Buds of Promise, and the Junior Missionaries. She loved to attend Sunday school. She was a current active member of St. Stephen AME Zion Church, under Rev. Quavon Z. Newton.  She served many roles throughout the years and was employed by Bangs Avenue Elementary School, Asbury Park Board of Education, as a Teacher's Aide and a Parent Liason, she worked at Bradley Elementary School, Asbury Park, NJ, with the Special needs children, a Bus Aide for Seman-Tov Bus Company, Ocean Township, NJ, and Manor by the Sea Nursing Home, Ocean Grove, NJ, as a Social Services Assistant, and Excelsior Medical Supply. She was also employed at Amazon, Boscov's, Sears, and worked on the polls at all of the elections in Asbury Park since the 80's.

Bridget enjoyed the beach no matter the season. She loved to take long walks on the boardwalk. She enjoyed being out in the fresh air such as sitting on the balcony for hours at the Monroe Towers and enjoying her parents porch in Concord, North Carolina when she would visit. She loved attending events such as concerts and plays. She enjoyed going out to eat and going to the movies. Bridget was a social butterfly with a soft spoken voice and had a heart of gold who enjoyed dancing. She was a giver, you would run into her often at the "field" as she called it where she would collect items such as food, toiletries, and clothing to gift others in need. She was what you'd call a "foot soldier" always walking. She served as a caregiver for Johnnie Mae Williams. She would run errands such as the grocery store and post office and would assist in whatever Johnnie Mae needed assistance with she would happily do. Bridget was a resident of Stephen Manor for over forty plus years where she was loved and respected, she will be truly missed by her neighbors and friends.
Bridget is predeceased by Marvin Lee Jackson, Sr, who she affectionately called "DAD," and a sister Linda Jackson.
