ADRIAN B. BANKS-JONES, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Aberdeen, Maryland on March 30, 2026.

Born in Neptune, New Jersey, on February 25, 1963, Adrian was the youngest daughter of Evelyn (Jones) Banks and Willie Banks. She was a proud graduate of the Neptune High School Class of 1981. In 1985 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.

Adrian began her civilian Department of Defense career in Iowa in 1987, where her no‑nonsense approach and strong work ethic quickly set her apart. She later transitioned to Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, serving with the Headquarters, Communications‑Electronics Command (CECOM) in the Directorate of Personnel and Training at the Civilian Personnel Administration Center. Known for her sharp mind and her ability to cut through confusion with clarity and purpose, Adrian became a trusted colleague and mentor. In 1996, following the Base Realignment and Closure of Fort Monmouth, Adrian moved to Aberdeen Proving Ground, where she continued her service with the same commitment that defined her entire career.

She retired in 2023 as Branch Chief from the Northeast Region headquarters for the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center. For more than 36 years, Adrian served the federal government with dedication, touching countless lives through her professionalism, guidance, and steady presence.

For those blessed enough to be part of her inner circle, she was loving, fiercely loyal, with a generous spirit that knew no bounds. Adrian would step in to help without hesitation, offering support and guidance to anyone who needed it. She was always thinking of others, often sending friends and family gifts that would surprisingly just show up in the mail.

Adrian’s sense of humor was legendary; she could always be counted on to make people laugh. She was an avid bingo player who especially enjoyed going on bingo cruises with her traveling buddies. But her greatest blessing was being a mom to her son Earon, truly her pride and joy!

Adrian was preceded in death by her father and by her mother, Evelyn (Alwee) Banks, whose memory she honored throughout her life. She is survived by her beloved son, Earon A. Jones of Aberdeen, MD; her sisters, Renée C. Banks of Neptune, NJ and Paula N. Jones of Ocean Township, NJ; and her uncle and aunt, Willie and Alice Jones of Neptune, NJ. She leaves behind a wide circle of cousins, including Sheila Palmer-Becker of Stone Mountain, GA, Marzella Layton of Asbury Park, NJ, Kevin L. Jones of Cary, NC, and her favorite “second cousin” Jordan Jones of Cary, NC, all with whom she shared a close and special bond. She is lovingly remembered by her two godsons, André M. Miller of Mableton, GA and Cammie Calderon of Neptune, NJ, as well as extended family, and a host of friends who will miss her deeply and who will continue to honor her through the stories, laughter, and strength she shared with them.
