Wanetta Jenette Gainey, 64, of Lakewood, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Sunday, March 5, 2022. She was born on September 22, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to Castoria and Henry Gainey Sr.

She graduated from Georgia Court College, Lakewood, NJ with a bachelor's degree. She worked as a nurse in the Lakewood medical system for over 20 years.

Netta, as she was called by family and close friends, was the matriarch of her family. She was the second oldest of six children. She cared for her nieces, nephews, and uncles without question. Wanetta never hesitated to help anyone in need. She was not only a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and confidant to all that knew and loved her. She will truly be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Castroia; brothers, Alphonso and Anthony; and nephew, Alphonso Smith.  Wanetta leaves to cherish her memories three brothers, Henry Jr. (Francine), Arnold (Ester), and Michael (Nicole); nieces, Tasharnda, Danika and Michaela; nephews, Rahmel, Trey, Maliki and Za'mair; great nieces and nephews, Ayana, Gabby, Amir, Airyn and Amari; devoted cousins, Deborah (Wayne) and Connie (Daniel); best friend, Angela; good friends, Renric, Genita and Chanda; and a host of relatives and friends.
