Vasco M. Reid, 80, of Neptune, NJ departed this life on July 18, 2018. He was born on November 20, 1937 in Neptune, NJ to the late Vasco Sr. and Nola (Reid) Wilson.

Affectionately, known as "Sleepy", he was a lifelong resident of Asbury Park, NJ. Vasco was employed in food services at Monmouth University for 20 years. He was a family man who loved cooking, eating soul food and playing cards with friends.

He was known as a spiffy dresser and loved wearing his hats. In his later years, his favorite past-time was playing bingo and racking up "Country Dollars" at Imperial Health Care Center.

He is predeceased by his wife, Anna Mae (Davis) Reid; both parents; 5 children; 2 grandchildren; and a sister, Geraldine Reid.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Gina Davis-Lane, Neptune, NJ, and Shatina Davis (Rodney) Asbury Park, NJ; brother, Vincent Reid of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Samuel Davis (Linda) of Neptune; 16 grandchildren, Monica Davis, Damion Davis, Kareem Davis, Wendell Davis Jr., Kamesha Davis, Ayana Snelling-Weedon (Albert), Stephen Williams, Fuquan Davis (Aneesha), Anna Davis, Kaleena Sager, Jenny McKenzie, Damion Hill, Ernest Jones, Nyja, Nakee Ruffin, and Calvin Johnson; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; special niece(s) and nephew(s), Roxanne Reid of Maryland, Latisha Esdaile of Asbury Park, NJ, Vincent Reid Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Andre Hayes (Crystal) of Piscataway, NJ, Shaun Davis of Ocean, NJ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
