Tymyra S.
Glisson
Jul 23, 1981 — Feb 6, 2015
Tymyra Shonte Glisson was born on July 23, 1981, to Eugene Glisson and Lethia Glisson, in Long Branch, NJ. She began her education at Wayside Elementary School in Ocean Township, NJ and continued at Bates Middle School in Sumter, SC. She is a graduate of Neptune High School, class of 1999. She furthered her education at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ and was employed at Developmental Services of NJ.
Tymyra, lovingly known as "Pebbles", thoroughly enjoyed cheering, bowling, singing and songwriting. Her passion for singing was evident as she sang and traveled with Youth United for Christ Mass Choir, and as she serenaded anyone near her! She was an avid traveler who was known to drop everything and take a last minute road trip. Tymyra truly loved her family. She was always seen hanging with her cousin, sisters, or brothers. She peacefully departed this life on Friday, February 6, 2015.
Tymyra is survived by her father, Eugene Glisson (Barbara Benjamin) , Neptune, NJ with whom she resided; mother, Lethia Glisson, Sumter, SC; paternal grandmother, Ruby Glisson, Asbury Park, NJ; brothers, Gerald Glisson (Michelle), Paterson, NJ, George Young, Long Branch, NJ; sisters, Ya'Kia Washington, Sumter, SC, Keysha Charles (Donnell), Baltimore, MD; extended sisters, Rhonda Johnson, Baltimore, MD, Shawnda Johnson, Vidalia, GA; nieces, Sydney Glisson, Skylar Glisson, Imani Charles, Iyana Charles, Majayla Young; nephews, Ixavier Charles, and Isaiah Young; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tymyra had an infinite and undying love for her goddaughter Sahkyi Hernandez, who she was raising as her own. If you were fortunate enough to be Tymyra's friend, you experienced nothing but love, laughter, and good times. She was one of the most kindhearted and loyal people that God allowed to grace this earth. We know that Tymyra was loved and is extremely missed. We, the family, are comforted in knowing that she is now truly resting in peace.
