Shirley Temple Evans, 72, was born and raised in Abbeville, Alabama to the late JC Craddock and Jonzie Lee Turner on April 2, 1945. She later moved to New Jersey at the age of 12. Later in life, Shirley met and married the late Willie Edward Evans.
She resided in Lakewood, New Jersey where she started her family. Shirley was introduced to the lord early in her life, so she knew the Lord. She lived a good life with joy and a big smile on her face. She was always kind and full of life. She will truly be missed. God gave us this angel for a short time, now he needs her home!
Shirley was employed at Leisure Chateau in Lakewood, NJ as a Nurse's Aide for 11 years before relocating to Virginia Beach, VA to be closer to her children. She later worked for the Marriott Hotel as a cook for 7 years where she retired at the age of 62.
She is predeceased by her son, Kelly Lyn Evans; brother, Charles Henry Turner; and sister, Sarah Frances Williams.
She is survived by her sons, Willie Edward Evans, Jr. of Freehold, NJ, Anthony Leon Evans of Barneget, NJ, Maurice Evans of Norfolk, VA, and her baby boy, Korey Jermaine Evans and his wife, Linet of Barneget, NJ; daughter, Vanessa Tia Evans of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, James Henry Turner of Lakewood, NJ, and Robert Allen Turner of Lakewood, NJ; sisters, Ardell Hadley of Lakewood, NJ, Johnnie Pearl Tims of Norfolk, VA, Janice Green of Delaware, NJ, and her baby sister, Dolly O'Lisa Turner of Bayville, NJ.
Shirley is also survived by her grandsons, Kadeem Evans, Anthony Evans, Jr., Ryan Evans and Willie Evans, Jr.; and granddaughters, Daysha Cosme, Shakela Cosme, Kellie Evans, Zakia Evans, Kalasha Evans, Tanisha Ratchford and Tawana Ratchford; 20 great grandchildren;
Shirley had taken ill and went back to New Jersey where she spent the rest of her days, until the Lord called her Home.
