Ronald Wayne Davis (Ronnie), 70, of Spring Lake Heights, NJ passed away in Jersey Shore University Medical Center on January 17, 2018 after a long illness.  He was born on March 12, 1947 to the late Lafayette B. and Elizabeth H. Davis.

Ronald attended Spring Lake Heights Elementary School and Manasquan High School.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam.

He married Carolyn A. Johnson of Asbury Park, NJ.  Five children were born of this marriage, Rhonda L. Davis, Kraig W. Davis, Gloria Barkley, Herbert Jones and Charles Davis.

Ronald explored various career options, but found his passion when he acquired his CDL license and worked as a long-distance truck driver.  He retired from the road when his health was compromised.  He later held various jobs in warehouses and factories.

He loved to relax after work and enjoyed fishing and golfing.  As a youth, he worshiped at Shiloh Baptist Church in Manasquan, NJ, and later fellowshipped at By Faith Ministries in Lakewood, NJ.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife; sister, Deborah; father, Lafayette B. Davis; and paternal and maternal grandmothers.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memories his five children; dearest granddaughter, Renee Davis of Asbury Park, NJ; loving great granddaughter, Sa'Mya Tyler of Asbury Park, NJ; mother, Elizabeth Davis of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, aunt, Geraldine of Ohio; brothers, Gregory Davis of Newark, NJ, and Lafayette Davis of Lakewood, NJ; sisters, Cheryl Williams, Delores Nunnally of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, and Renee (Ronald) Johnson of Lakewood, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and many friends.
