Rodney Taylor, lovingly known as Cool Rod, was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on December 5, 1967. He attended Lakewood High School where he was on the South Jersey Group III State Champs in 1986.
Rodney graduated from Lakewood High School in 1986. He was inducted into the Lakewood High School Athlete Hall of Fame in 2012. His larger-than-life personality was one of a kind unmatched like no other. Everybody was drawn to him, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Rodney loved to cook, tell jokes, he loved to grill, and he loved his Dallas Cowboys.
Rodney departed this life on February 3, 2026. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth McDaniel, and his brother, Thomas McDaniel.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, Janie Taylor of Jackson, NJ, daughter, LeChante Taylor of Jackson, NJ, stepdaughter, Jeanine Bones, and stepson, Jose Bones, three grandchildren, Camryn Sparks, M'Kenzie Sparks, Miaylah Sparks, three brothers, Johnny Taylor of Brick, NJ, Willie Taylor of Jackson, NJ, and Travis Taylor (Deanna) of Toms River, NJ, two sisters, Diane Taylor of Jackson, NJ, Lisa Taylor (Clarence) of Toms River, NJ, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
