Jun 18, 1966 — Mar 1, 2016
Rhonda Yvette (Kennedy) McCall, 49, was called home to her eternal rest on Tues, Mar 1, 2016 at Robert Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, after a long battle with breast cancer. Rhonda's devoted husband, children, sister, and brother were by her side when she passed away. Rhonda was born on June 18, 1966 in Newark, NJ, to the late Rev. John W. Kennedy and Sandra E. (Threadgill) Kennedy.
Rhonda graduated from Lakewood High School in 1984. Upon graduating, she attended Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. After college she returned home and married her childhood sweetheart Dennis.
Rhonda worked for AIG for 9 years as a supervisor for the Credit/Mortgage and Claims Department. After being down-sized, she later fulfilled her dream of helping others by pursuing a career as a medical assistant.
She was known for her infectious smile. Rhonda was a generous and loving person, not only to her family, but to friends and to whom ever she came into contact with. She truly had a relationship with God. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Neptune, NJ where she sang in the choir and served diligently where ever needed. Rhonda was also a charter member and the first President of the Amicae, Friends of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, until 2016 when she could no longer serve due to her illness.
Rhonda leaves behind her loving husband of 28 years, Dennis McCall; 2 daughters, Renee LaShawn McCall and Jessica Lynn Self (James); 2 sisters, Anissa Erika Kennedy and Claressa Woodward; 2 brothers, Jonathan Crow and Richard Woodward; grandson, Jahir McCall; mother, Sandra E.
