Peggie Jean Walker (Brogden), age 71, Neptune, NJ passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ.  She was born in Farmville, VA on January 17, 1946.

In 1965, Peggie Jean graduated from Central High School in Charlotte County, VA where she was a model student and cheerleader. She married Clemis L. Walker Jr. in 1967 and they remained married for 50 years.

Peggie served in the community in various ways, such as a Nursing Assistant with Green Grove Convalescent Home, Lead Sales Associate at Naturalizer Shoes at Seaview Square Mall, Seamstress, Childcare Provider, Hospice Care Provider and Family Support Worker with Visiting Nurses Association – Healthy Families program, faithful member of Union Baptist Church's Nurse's Aide Unit, Youth Advisor of Junior Missionaries and Youth Advisor of the Junior Choir.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Clemis L. Walker, Jr.; three sons, Alan and Andre (Shawnda) of Neptune, NJ, and Shawn (Alicia-Marie) of Covington, GA; three daughters, Michelle of Neptune, NJ, Tanya (Marion) of Covington, GA, Deborah (Troy) of Brick, NJ; two brothers, Calvin Canada of Durham, NC, and Michael Canada of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Ernestine Fischer, of Neptune,NJ, Ollie Bryce and Sharon Vaughters of Baltimore, MD; one sister in law, Frances Winckler; two uncles, Lloyd Pearson and Lynwood Vaughters; two aunts, Ruby Vaughters and Nannie Terry; fourteen grandchildren, Chanel, Jaynaya, Terrell, Lakia, Alaina, Alan Jr., Sabrina, Breonna, Shawna, Kaila, Malia, Tori, My'Andra and Andre Jr.; seven  great grandchildren; Emmanuel, Elias, Janiyah, Tyrell Jr., Demi, Sienna, Emani; two god daughters, Ronica Dinkins and Keisha Walton; and a host of other family, and friends.
