Patrick J. Moran, 84, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 22, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his four children Jennifer, Patrick, Mary, and Matthew as well as 10 grandchildren.

Patrick grew up in the Bronx, scrapping his way through school before joining the US Air Force. He earned the rank of Airman 1st Class while serving throughout the Pacific. He would often tell stories of the violent storms on Iwo Jima, his time in Tokyo, and the chance encounter he had with Marylin Monroe. After his service he earned his college degree, met his wife Anna, then moved to northern New Jersey to begin his family.

As a salesman, Patrick achieved notable success bringing new technology to market. During the 80s, he introduced some of the first computer terminals, databases, and CD ROMS to businesses in NJ before shifting to the aerospace industry, working for high profile companies such as McDonell Douglas.

After a period of deep reflection, Patrick rededicated himself to his Catholic faith. He committed heavily to his local church, serving as a eucharistic minister, and teaching Sunday school. He joined Paramus Catholic High School as a Theology Teacher, achieved a masters degree and became a leader in the department. Patrick helped grow outreach programs within the school, serving food banks and soup kitchens throughout the area. Former students often talk about the impact he made on their faith. It is also common to hear thoughts of gratitude from the many friends he made at all his local parishes, including parishioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where he concluded his service to the church.

To his family, Patrick will be remembered as a lover of all things Irish, visiting the country whenever he could and catching more Cherish The Ladies concerts than one could count. He prided himself on his elaborate practical jokes, was always up for a Yankee or Giants game, enjoyed long lazy days on the beach, and took advantage of every party and dance floor he could find. He had equal passion for running, reading, and writing. You could easily find his latest poem on top of a stack of books in his room, right below the picture of himself crossing the finish line of the NY Marathon.
