Patricia Ann Puryear, 65, of Neptune, NJ passed away on Monday February 21, 2022 in Portsmouth, VA.

She was born on February 5, 1957 in Neptune, NJ. She graduated from Howell High School in 1975. Pat had her one and only child, Alyssa, on March 9, 1990. She married her long-term sweetheart, Lester Puryear, on March 20, 1997.  Just 6 months before her passing, Patricia was promoted to NaNa by her precious grandbaby, Tiana.

Pat loved helping others in any way that she could. For many years she worked as a caregiver to senior citizens and disabled veterans. As a foster child herself, Patricia selflessly cared for many foster children and understood the importance of having a place to call home.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Emily Brannen, sisters, Matilda Cooper, Ernestine Philips, and Tabitha Cottman-McMillian, brothers, Wallace Tatum, and Forrest Phillips.

Patricia will forever be loved and missed by her husband, Lester Puryear, daughter, Alyssa Cochran, son-in-law, Davon Cochran, granddaughter, Tiana Cochran, fur baby, Harley, grand dogs, Bailey and Gizmo, siblings, Elizabeth Brannen, Beleria Tatum, and Marcellous Tatum, and a host of nieces, nephews, foster children and longtime friends.
