Ora Roberta Holland, 85, of Neptune, New Jersey passed away on May 31, 2017, and although she has gone to meet the Lord, her presence will be with us forever. She was born on November 6, 1931 at the Ann May Hospital, Spring Lake, New Jersey to the late Ernest Johnson and Eleana May Douglass Johnson.
Ora was educated in the Asbury Park public school system and graduated from high school in 1950. She lived in Asbury Park and later moved to Neptune where she resided for 50 years with her husband, William Edward Holland, Sr. She recently moved to The Atria assisted living community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
Ora was united in marriage to her loving husband, William Edward Holland, Sr. on December 31, 1951; and from that union four children were born. She was employed and retired from Jersey Shore University Medical Center where she served as Supervisor of the Sterile Central Supply Department.
Ora was a faithful and life time member of Second Baptist Church, Asbury Park, for over 60 years. She had served as Past President of the Senior Usher Board.
Ora was a very giving and thoughtful person, always putting the needs of others before herself. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She was predeceased by two brothers, George Johnson and Bernard Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, William Edward Holland, Sr. of sixty-five years; daughter and caregiver, Eleana May Holland-Winckler (Melvin) of Ocean, New Jersey; three sons, Dennis Edward Holland (Kathleen) of Neptune, NJ, Robert Lawrence Holland (Beverly) of Neptune, New Jersey, and William Edward Holland, Jr. (Ann Marie) of Springhill, Florida; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, William Johnson, Sr. (Irene) of Dover, Delaware; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
