Nabate Kalil Washington was born on February 19, 1998 to Cedric Smith and Celeste Johnson in Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  Nabate attended the Asbury Park, New Jersey school system. He was a smart and loving person with a wonderful smile that would brighten the day of anyone with whom he came in contact.

Nabate leaves to cherish his memories his mother and step-father, Celeste (Gregory) Johnson of Asbury Park, New Jersey; father and step-mother, Cedric (Kimberly) Smith of Belleville, New Jersey; maternal grandparents, John and Carol Washington of Manchester, New Jersey; paternal grandparents, Brenda Smith of Glen Allen, Virginia, and Noble L. and wife (Betty) Smith of Henrico, Virginia; maternal  siblings, Arabia Washington (sister), Ameer and Quadere Washington (brothers) of Asbury Park, New Jersey; paternal siblings, Nyjah Smith (sister) of Freehold, New Jersey, Cedric Jr. and Jerome Smith (brothers) of Henrico, Virginia; favorite aunt and uncle, Varnia (BiBi) Johnson and Philip Ramey of Neptune, New Jersey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
