Mildred Stafford was born on August 10, 1931 in Valdosta, Georgia.  She was called home to glory on January 29, 2017 while doing the LORD's work.

Mildred was the youngest girl of 15 brothers & sisters born to the late Arren and Willa Carter.   She graduated from Hahira High School in Hahira, Georgia, class of 1948.

She met and fell in love with Samuel Douglas Stafford Jr., whom she was married to for 65 years until his death. Together they had 3 children, all deceased, Larry Lamar Stafford, Emily Joyce Stafford and Douglas Samuel Stafford III.

Mildred was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked briefly at Signal Light in Neptune, NJ while devoting her life to caring for her family and others in need.  She represented the true meaning of "For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."   She was a long time faithful member of Mt Pisgah Baptist Temple, Asbury Park, NJ where she loved to worship the LORD.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother-in-law, Harry L. Stafford (Betty) Tinton Falls, NJ; sister –in-law, Eudorice Fluitt of Valdosta, GA; 6 grandchildren, Nadine Stafford of Marietta, GA, Eric Stafford of Newark, NJ, Tyrek Stafford, Shirley Roberts, Rashawn Roberts, Alicia Roberts all of Neptune, NJ; 15 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
