Marvin L. Penn, 66, of Toms River, New Jersey went home to glory on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.  He was born on August 4, 1950 in Lakewood, New Jersey to Herman and Gladys Woods Penn.

He began a 30 year career in finance, starting at Avco Financial Center in Toms River, New Jersey.  He continued his career at Ocean First Bank of Toms River as Assistant Vice President of Loan Mortgaging, where he served for 15 years.

Marvin was a member of Second Baptist Church of Toms River since childhood.  He served as Trustee for many years, was a member of the Kitchen Committee, served on the Interfaith, Hospitality Ministry, and has worked with the Youth Ministry.

He was a board member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ocean County.  He was very active in his community, and loved traveling with his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Cathy.

Marvin was predeceased by his father, Herman Penn; mother, Gladys Penn; and his brother, H. William Penn.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his childhood sweetheart whom he married, Cathy; his "#1 godson", Robert Agnello; goddaughter, Marcelina; brother, John Penn and his wife, Dot-T, all of Pleasantville; sister, Roxanne Perry and her husband of Virginia; brother in law, Anthony Scelzo; sisters in law, Frances, Theresa, Angela, and Trish; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
