Margie P. Edwards, 65, of Asbury Park, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018.  Her family lost a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and grandmother.  She was born in Fitkin Hospital, Neptune, New Jersey (now Jersey Shore University Medical Center) on May 6,1953 to Winfield and Nettie Abbott.

Margie Edwards was loving, patient, and down to earth. While we mourn the passing of our family member, we know that God has called Margie home to release her from her physical body.  A body where she had been compromised by illness, pain, and suffering. God called for her and has granted her wings to eternal paradise!

She is predeceased by her father, Winfield Abbott; mother, Nettie Puryear Abbott; brothers, William Puryear, and Claude Abbott.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Carl Edwards of Asbury Park, NJ; son George Oxner of Asbury Park, NJ; two daughters, Sandra Mcfarlin of Plainfield, NJ, and Nkenge Sadiqua Romain of Oakland, CA; six grandchildren, Sadiqua Leatha Bynum of CA, Ny'zhere Oxner, Naziyaah Oxner of Long Branch, NJ, Aaliyah Oxner, Alana Oxner of Asbury Park, NJ, and Terrell Lee Scott Romain of Oakland, CA; sisters, Veronica Miller of Neptune NJ, Ernestine Dickerson of Toms River, NJ, Jill Johnson of GA, Francis Portlock of Newark, NJ, and Charlene Portlock of Asbury Park, NJ; and a host of nieces and nephews.
