Obituary

Joy (Sue) Elaine Nunnery, 65, passed away on November 5, 2022, after a long battle with heart disease. Joy was born in McComb, Mississippi on March 10, 1957, to parents Vernon Lee Nunnery, and Eula B. Marsalis (Smith) both predeceased. As a child she moved to New York where she attended Andrew Jackson High School.

Joy worked for Howard Johnson distribution center until the late 80's. She later worked for John F. Kennedy Airport and Grey Owl Indian Craft Store. Lastly, she worked for Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ in 2002 in housekeeping for 13 years where she worked until she succumbed to health issues.

Joy loved God, and life to the fullest. She made each moment count. She was resilient, strong and a person of integrity. She loved to help people and you could always count on her. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She also loved to play games, watch soap operas and boy did she love reality television.

She is survived by her loving companion, Reginald B. Tart Sr. of Asbury Park, NJ, her only child, Lavecia G. Nunnery-McCann of Gainesville, FL, her granddaughter, Isis A'aliyah Craig and great grandson, Brayden Lee Scott of Orlando, FL. She also adored her stepchildren, Regeena, Reginal and Quintell.

She loved her family and friends very much. She greatly appreciated them so much for assisting her with everything, whether it was taking her to a BBQ, to church, or even a doctor's appointment.

Thank you to all of our family and friends for their support during this time.
