Johnnie G. Carter, 86, of Neptune, NJ passed away on Nov 25, 2015 in King Manor Care & Rehabilitation Center, Neptune.  She was born in Baskerville, VA on April 29, 1929 to the late Henry and Sarah Brooks, Sr.

She was a long time member of Friendship Baptist Church, Asbury Park.  She was a member of the Usher Board as well as the Missionary Board.

Johnnie was predeceased by her husband, John Vernon Carter, Sr.; 9 sisters and 11 brothers.

She is survived by her sons, John Vernon Carter, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Ronald B. Carter of Neptune, NJ, and Gregory L. Carter of Neptune, NJ; daughter, Gail L. Wright of Richmond, VA; sister, Eva Francis Staples; brother; Henry Cleveland Brooks, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
