Obituary

James Alfred "Jim Boy" Seward, son of William H. Seward and Esther Mae Evans-Seward, was born on January 16, 1942 in Petersburg, Virginia. He was called home on May 17, 2018.

James graduated from Lakewood High School in June of 1961. He continued his pursuit of knowledge at Ocean County College where he took several Criminal Justice courses. Educated and equipped, James embarked on his career path and served as a Correctional Officer at Jamesburg Youth Facility. James also held several other supplemental professional positions which all were well served by his jubilant personality and exceptional people skills.

When James engaged in Christian fellowship, his church of choice was Macedonia Baptist Church where he became a member in 2000.  His life reflected Gods greatest commandment, "Do ALL Things in Love". James "Jim Boy" Seward cherished his family and lived life optimistically. James will be remembered for his wisdom, strength, and resiliency because NOTHING could keep him down.

James was predeceased by his father, William Seward; mother, Esther Seward; sister, Esther Ruth Seward; brother, Earl Lee Seward; granddaughter, Michelle Craddock-Harvey; first wife, June Cynthia Seward, who departed this life in 1972 leaving James as a widower.

He leaves to cherish his legacy his ex-wife and friend, Pamela Seward of Ewing, NJ; five children, Michael Craddock of Lakewood, NJ, Dora Holly Seward of Toms River, NJ, Roderick James Seward of Toms River, NJ, Sara Lindsey Seward of Ewing, NJ, and Julian Randall Seward of Ewing, NJ; three bonus children, Troy Anthony Seward of Denver, Colorado, Darryl Keith Seward of Toms River, NJ, and Brock Myles Seward of Ewing, NJ; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
