Obituary

Jacalyn 'Jacky' Gill, 63, of Long Branch, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ.  She was born on February 19, 1953 in Long Branch, NJ to the late Willie Alexander and Emma Davis.

Jacky came to know the Lord as her Savior as a young woman under the pastorate of Rev. J. L. Dargon, and was a diligent and faithful worker while attending Providence Baptist Church in Cliffwood, NJ.  She was a member of the senior choir, woman to woman ministry, taught Sunday school, helped in the kitchen and enjoyed working with the youth ministry.  Jacky loved to sing and attended Gospel Concerts whenever possible.

She was a past advisor of the teenage, community, girls group; 'The Together Sisters. On Saturdays, as a young woman, Jacky would load up the car with, 'whosoever will", and make her way to Englishtown Auction. She loved to shop.

She graduated from Matawan High School where she was a cheerleader.  She continued her education and became a LPN.  She was later employed at AT&T Bell Labs until becoming disabled in 1984.

Jacky was a jokester who was fond of making or telling jokes. In her later years, she could be found rearranging the aisles and displays at the Neptune Walmart on Saturdays.

God brought Jacky from so many 'close calls', and her response was always a resounding, "He did it again!"

She was predeceased by her brother Willie 'Billy' Alexander Jr.  She leaves to cherish many fond memories her daughter, Michelle (Chris) Revels of Neptune, NJ; son, Lloyd Gill of VA; brother, Michael 'Johnny' Alexander of Newark, NJ; sister, Yvonne 'Avon' Alexander of West Orange, NJ; six grandchildren, Ramel, Elijah, Satira, Janiyah, Isaiah Gill, and Jenna Revels; along with a host of other family and friends.
