Obituary

Eddie James Green, formerly of Long Branch, NJ, and Pittsburgh, PA, transitioned from this world on November 8, 2022. In the quietness and stillness of the night, with his wife, Tia, by his side, he departed.

Eddie was born on October 7, 1952, to Thelma and Phillip Green. He was one of ten children. His siblings are Caffie Green, Odessa Green, Doris Green, Valarie Green, Jeff Green, and Matthew Green. He attended and graduated from Long Branch High School.

He and Tia-Juana Harell were married on December 23,1974. From this marriage two children were born, Eddie, Jr. and Eric.

He worked as a superintendent for a senior citizen complex and maintenance department of an apartment complex in Pittsburgh, PA. When he and his wife relocated to Neptune, NJ, earlier this year, he worked for Arrow Limousine, in Red Bank, NJ.

In watching Tia and Eddie over the years, one could see the love they had for each other, a love that would last forever. When Tia and Eddie would visit Tia's family in Neptune, her mother would say Tia and Eddie acted like newly-weds, "it's 3:00 in the morning and they're in the bedroom laughing and talking, and the microwave is beeping." That's the way they were. They would do anything for each other. They had ups and down in life, as we all do, but dealt with each situation together. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Eddie loved to play pool, poker, and fishing with his "home boys" in his free time. "Back in the day", he had the nickname "Fast Eddie." Now "Fast Eddie" is 70 years old, and those days are gone.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thelma and Philip Green, sisters, Betty Pauley and Mary Green, and brothers, Clifford Green and Phillip Green, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Tia-Juana, sons, Eddie Jr and Eric (Sheena), daughter, Juanita Gomes, three grandchildren, Zhane, Destinee, and Hunter, two great grandchildren, Patrick and Payton, sisters, Caffie Green, Odessa Green, Doris and Valarie Green, brothers, Jeff and Matthew Green, as well as his nieces and nephews.

Eddie J. Green was an important part of our lives, loved by all and will always be in our memories. Till we meet again...
