Christine L. Dickerson-Askew, 84, of Asbury Park, New Jersey, answered the call of our loving and heavenly Father at King Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on November 5, 2015.    She was born in Cedar Springs, Georgia on December 16, 1930 to Mary L. Walker and James Adams.

Christine graduated from Stanton High School and attended Edward Waters College, both in Jacksonville, Florida. She was happily employed for over 30 years at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey.  In 1994, Christine was lovingly married to the late James C. Askew, and they resided in Asbury Park, New Jersey where they shared twenty years of love and laughter together.

Christine accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cedar Springs, Georgia. She has been a member of the Sixth Street Baptist Church for twenty years, where she served in a number of positions including the Senior Choir, Missionary, Pastor's Aide, Floral Club, and Deaconess Board until she became ill.

Christine was preceded in death by her mother; and younger sibling, James R. Powell.  She is survived by her daughter, Linda Diane Williams; granddaughter, Tamara Lynn Williams; great granddaughter, Malekqua N. Washington; great grandson, Sekai Q. Williams of Asbury Park, NJ; brother, Edmond Walker (Louise) of Willingboro, NJ; one nephew, Rev. James R. Powell (Jackie) of Greensboro, NC; three nieces, Gloria Jean Steward (Nelson)  of Cincinnati, OH; Sheila L. Walker of Willingboro, NJ; and Holli A. Walker of Laurel, MD; and a host of cousins and friends.
