Obituary

Beverly Young, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, at Jersey Shore Post Acute Rehabilitation Center in Neptune, NJ. Born on November 30, 1944, in Colon, Panama, Beverly was the cherished daughter of Arther and Germaine Lovell.

Beverly's journey began at Christ Church Academy in Colon, where she excelled academically and formed lasting friendships. In 1963, she embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States and settling in Brooklyn, New York. It was there that she rekindled a romance with her high school sweetheart, Julio, whom she married in 1966. Their union was one of enduring love and partnership.

For over two decades, Beverly dedicated herself to serving others in her role in Customer Service with New York Telephone, retiring in 1986. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication endeared her to colleagues and customers alike.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Germaine Lovell, sisters, Daisy Thompson and Norma Lovell, and her brother, Alan Lovell. She is survived by her loving son, James (Angie) of Shrewsbury, NJ, daughter, Michele Watley (John) of Atlanta, Georgia, step-daughter, Gabriella Phelps of Hempstead, NY, and grandchildren, Nicole Richardson, Angelo Watley, Maya Watley, Madeline Young, Kai Watley, and Juliana Young. She also leaves behind numerous other family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. Beverly's legacy is one of resilience, love, and faith. She faced life's challenges with grace and courage, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her unwavering belief in the power of family and her enduring spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In the words of her loved ones, "Beverly, you have fought a good fight, but now you are home with your maker." Though she may no longer walk among us, her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Beverly.
