Anthony (Tony) Steverson, age 62, of Neptune Township, NJ was taken into God's care on Sunday morning, September 4, 2016 in his home.  Tony was born in Warrenton, North Carolina on June 8, 1954 to Alexander Steverson and Mary [Jones] Steverson.  He was the third of five children.

Tony attended Long Branch, NJ school system, graduating from Long Branch High School in 1973.   He attended Middletown North Vocational School for electronics during his junior and senior year of high school.  After high school, he attended Brick Computer Science Institute, specializing in electronics and computer systems.

Around that time, he started his career working for Strong Alarm Company.  He went on to work for Perkin Elmer (later becoming Concurrent) for several years.  Afterwards, he started his own security system company, Vertronixx, which much later evolved to his current company, Cyber Strong, Inc.

Tony began playing drums in his first band at the age of 12. Over the past five decades, Tony played in multiple bands as the drummer, percussionist, bass guitar player and/or lead or backup vocalist.    He was a member of a number of bands: The Crystalations, To Be Continued, Freakquency Unknown, Token, Solar, Smooth Touch, Split Decision, The No Regretts Band, and The Secrett Band.   Tony was a member of the Red Bank Elks Bates Lodge #220 and member of the Neptune Democratic Club.

Tony was known for his smile and his charm.  He would always generate a fun and happy atmosphere where ever he went.  His jokes and his laughter were infectious and brought joy to everyone around him.  He was quick to offer a helping hand for those in need no matter the situation.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mary and his father, Alexander.  He is survived by his beloved son, Anthony A. Steverson (Neptune, NJ); siblings, Ernestine Steverson-Jeter and her husband, Kelvin Jeter, Frederick A. Steverson, Darren Steverson and his wife, Roslyn Hurt-Steverson (all of Neptune, NJ), Kimberley Steverson (Willingboro, NJ), and Doris C. Smalls (Henderson, NC); maternal aunt, Dorothy M. Jones (Mt. Vernon, NY);  paternal aunts, Fannie (Steverson) Jones (Philadelphia, PA), and Estelle (Steverson) Harden (Atlanta, GA);  seven nephews, William "JR" Glover, Jerome M. Steverson, Devin W. Jeter, Darren C. Steverson, Kaishon J. Steverson-Bass, Noah J. Steverson, and Donovan A. Steverson; four great-nieces, one great-nephew, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
