Amani Hadiya Gilliam, 25, a beloved member of the Freehold, NJ community, returned to the creator on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. She was born on October 9, 1998, at Riverview Medical Center, Freehold, NJ to her parents Adilah Smith and Elijah Gilliam, Jr.

Amani spent her formative years in Asbury Park, NJ, later settling in Freehold, NJ. She graduated from Freehold Township High School and pursued a career in Cosmetology. Amani was a woman of many talents; she was an entrepreneur, dancer, makeup artist, model, and musician. Above all, she dedicated herself as a full-time mother to her beautiful daughter, Summer Reign. Amani was known for her fearlessness and zest for life, embracing every moment with enthusiasm.

Amani is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Joseph and Hazel Smith, grandfather, Philip Lee, and grandmother, Jacqueline Gilliam.

She is survived by her daughter, Summer Reign Gilliam-Bennett, best friend and soulmate, Daquane Bland-Bennett, mother, Adilah Smith, father, Elijah Gilliam, Jr, grandmother, Peggy Smith, grandfather, Elijah Gilliam, Sr, and great-grandmother, Geneva Gilliam. Amani also leaves behind a large extended family; including aunts, Fadeelah Smith, Tiffani, Marsha, Kristen Gilliam, brother, Xavier Gilliam, and numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends who cherished her.

Amani Hadiya Gilliam's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be remembered for her passion, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
