Vivian E. Brown ʺCity Vʺ, 59, of East Orange, NJ passed away on March 16, 2019. She was born on October 6,1959 in Orangeburg, NY to the late Rose Mae Johnson and Rodney Jones.
Vivian was a lifelong resident of Asbury Park, NJ, before moving to Newark, NJ in 2011. She met and married her late husband, Johnathan Brown, in Asbury Park in 1981. She was employed as a teacher’s aid at the daycare center, Head Start (ICCC).
Vivian was known to many as "City V". She was known for bringing laughter to everyone she encountered. City V had an infectious energy that could bring a smile to others on their worst day. She was a very passionate and unique person, whose spirit will continue to be felt by all who were blessed enough to know her.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Johnathan Brown; only sister, Kathy Agostini; grandmother, Rose Johnson; and her nephews, Ryekill Agostini and Rahju T. Love.
She is survived by two loving children, TyWand R. Johnson (Nicola Sommerville), and Shamonique Brown; two stepsons, Tyrone Taylor and Edward Taylor; aunt, Catherine Hill; uncle, Lee Johnson; seven grandchildren, Shamirra Brown, Nariyah Nicholson, Lanaya Walker, Destiny Johnson, Devin Johnson, Salicia Paige, and Nicolette Bondswell; two nephews, Terrale Agostini and Rakim Love; two godsons, Anthony Fraser and Ibn Gerald; one goddaughter, Shakirah Williams; adopted sister, LaSeana Scurry; lifelong friend, Dorothy Brown Lee; and a host of loving family and friends.
