Patricia Ann Royal, 78, of Middletown, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019. She was born on August 28, 1940 in Lawton, Oklahoma to June Donaldson.
Patricia was an only child. She graduated from Lawton High School and took an early interest in the sciences after she took a part-time job in a pharmacy.
Prior to pursing the sciences as a career, she spent several years working as a bank teller. In her late twenties she pursued her interest in the sciences by becoming a certified histology technician. She went on to acquire multiple levels of certifications. Patricia dearly loved her profession because it allowed her to play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by turning body tissue samples into microscope slides. Her work was her greatest passion!
Her employers included Jersey Shore Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Hoffman-LaRoche, which is where she retired as a senior scientist, after 20 years of employment.
Patricia was a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan! She served as a volunteer at various non-profits throughout her life, with her favorite being Lunch Break in Red Bank New Jersey. She was also a devoted member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank, New Jersey. Patricia was a loving and devoted mother, who lived her life trying to comfort and support others.
She is survived by her children, Robyn E. Royal, Robert Sean Royal, and Sheila West Royal-Moses; grandchildren, Rahkem Royal, Richard Moses II, Seffasia Royal, Ashley Calhoun, Makai Royal and Cayden Royal; daughter in-law, Consuelo “Konnie” Royal, and son in-law, Richard Moses; and 3 great-grandchildren.
