Marjorie Mae Thompson, 88, of Neptune, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. She was born on August 10, 1930 in Long Branch, NJ to James and Katherine Woodle.
She graduated from Lincoln Nursing Academy in New York, NY in 1952 as a registered nurse. She married Norman Newcombe in 1953 and had 3 children. They were married for 17 years. She married her second husband, Maurice Thompson, in 1973. They were married for 38 years.
Marjorie was employed as a nurse at Neptune Convalescent Center in Neptune, NJ for 20 years until she retired. She continued her nursing career as a private duty nurse for almost another 20 years.
She is predeceased by her mother, Katherine Baker; first husband, Norman Newcombe; second husband, Maurice Thompson; and daughter, Leslie Newcombe.
Marjorie is survived by her 2 daughters, Lisa Newcombe of Neptune, NJ, and Lenore Johnson of Jamestown, NC; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Mayo of Chattanooga, TN, Amber Mayo of Matawan, NJ, and Douglas Parker of Neptune, NJ; brother, James Woodle of West Orange, NJ; nieces, Shelley Rice of Redding, CA, and Jennifer Lofton of Sanford, FL; many cousins and friends; and her beloved dog, Jo Jo.
