Lillian Holmes Obituary

Lillian Holmes, 78, of Toms River, NJ passed away on February 18, 2019.  She was born on January 24, 1941 in Nyack, NY to Harry S. and Mildred Thompson.

For many years she worked for B.H Kroger's in Fairlawn NJ. She then took on the mission to become a foster care provider a job she loved very much. Lillian loved to create dolls, the delicacy and beauty of each doll showed that she had a very creative spirit. Lillian also loved puzzles. Many of these puzzles are just beautiful, once again showing her eye for beauty and the strength of her creativity.  Lillian was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Tinton Falls.

Lillian is predeceased by her son, Troy Thompson (Rhonda); and granddaughter, Angie Johnson.  She is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles Holmes; children, Edward Thompson (Tina) of Fort Worth, TX, Deena Whitaker of Fort Worth, TX, Charlene Thompson of Florida, Clarice Thompson of Paterson, NJ, Leonard Chaney of Ocean County, NJ, Andrew Johnson of Florida, Scott Chaney and Precious Holmes of Texas; special foster daughter, Samantha Durham; 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great children.
