Emma Huff-Edwards of Manchester, New Jersey departed this life peacefully on June 21, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was born on December 2, 1944 in Onley, Virginia to the late Sylvester Major and Oneda Conquest.
Emma was first a mother of four and a babysitter for her family and friends. She was employed in 1985 at Lakewood Public Library and remained there for approximately 10 years. Emma then went to the Jackson, New Jersey branch and was employed there until 2008. She was no longer able to work as a Circulation Supervisor/Principal Library Assistant. She retired after 22 years of service.
Emma was predeceased by 3 husbands, Robert C. Brown, Fornzicia Huff, and Eddie L. Edwards; 2 dads, Sylvester M. Conquest and Albert R. Anderson; mother, Oneda Anderson; 1 son, James E. Brown; 1 brother, Sylvester (Buddy) Conquest; 1 sister, Annie Mae James; 1 great grandson, Tate Nazario; niece, Fannie Mae and (Kenney R.) Johnson; 1 nephew, Samuel Conquest Marshall; and a special friend, Joyce Rice.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories 1 son, Robert A. Brown; 2 daughters, Lisa L. Jones, and Maria F. (Gary) Moore; 1 sister, Alice L. and (Samuel) Brown; 10 grandchildren, Tyshell Nelson, Sherrod Nelson, Tyrasha and (Daniel) Nazario, Ratara Brown and (Quadree), Robert and (Kendra) Rossano, Larry Jones Jr., Ieisha Hodge, Leyron Jones, Latrell Jones, Lishey Jones, and 1 Fur Grandbaby Prince; 10 great grandchildren, Jaiden Brown, Sherrod Nelson Jr., Cameron Alonge, Robert Rossano Jr., Ella Rossano, Izaiah Taveras, Kai Swain, Nilah Swain, Ryan Swain, and Nova Freitas; 1 niece, Shirley Conquest; 5 nephews, Daryl Conquest Murphy, Sylvester and (Tabitha) Conquest Marshall, Edward L. and (Robin) Conquest, Chester (Beaver) Conquest, Sylvester Conquest III; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
